Dear Average Woman

You missed to check the mirror again today to say to yourself that you are beautiful, no matter. I know it gives you chills because you refuse to believe it but we had a deal, remember? You owe kindness to yourself. Choose to say things that will uplift your soul. Choose to say it, repeatedly, until you are convinced of the truth. Listen: You are beautiful.

Stop carrying your Insecurity Baggage wherever you go. Turn down every thought of you not being good enough, not being smart enough, not being attractive enough. Can you stop picking up burdens of negative thoughts and pouring them down like wine, letting it fill your barrel with poison? Have you forgotten that you are made with an exceptional combination of fear and wonder? You are made worthy to and of love, of hope, of faith, of grace and of forgiveness. Sometimes, you forget these things and you dwell too much with all the lies inside your head. I am reminding you of this again: You are valuable.

Don’t get too shy around people. Don’t even think that you need to impress them and you always have to be perfect. Please don’t be too harsh on yourself, lower down your pride, tune off from your ego. You don’t need to be perfect, you just have to be yourself. Remember who you are when you’re with your closest friends, you are calm and you enjoy. Be open to the idea that people may or may not like you, you don’t have to feel bad if they don’t, it’s not the end of the world. Some people may not like you but you can always love them back, anyways. Try to express your you more: You are allowed to be who you are — flaws and all.

Put an end in selling yourself short, because you know what, you can do a lot of things…excellently! And I mean it in every sense of the word. Being good at art, or advocacy, or science, or words, or food, or cars, or wherever field you choose to be is never petty. You’ve got a plethora of passion and potential in your hands. You have been given an overflow of gifts that you can always work on. Be a good steward of your talents.

You, Average Woman, does not – at all – exist. There’s never a woman who is only Average. You’re a Woman. You don’t wear a label of range and measures. Stop living in the standards of this world because it will never fit you — you exceed it. You woman, you ought to love yourself, because hey, I’ll never get tired of stressing what’s obvious: You matter.

And please, don’t you forget.

Psalm 124

Last 13th of October last year, I attended the Dialogue Education (Vella) Seminar. Every morning then before we start, we dedicate 30 minutes to an hour of devotion, we are lead by our facilitator Miss Vylma.

Anyways, one day Miss V asked us to do our own versions of Psalm 124 as part of our devotion. Here’s what I wrote mine back then.

(Raw file. Don’t mind my grammar.)
“If the Lord had not been on my side–let Kriselle say–if the Lord had not been on my side when doubts, fears and rejections I had on myself and from other people, I would have left myself and throw myself a Pity Party every now and then. I have been scared all my life and I would not experience the mercy and grace of my Heavenly Father.

Praise be to the Lord, God, my Father for whenever I ran far away from Him, he always follow me and catch me each time I fall. Indeed, he’s lovingkindness is better than life and as much as I can–and by his grace–I will live a life that will serve as a testimony to draw more people close to his side. I’m a work in progress and I know that he will never leave me until I fulfill his purpose in my life.”

Something to inspire me whenever I’m down. Try doing your own versions of Psalm 124. It’s like a mini reminder to yourself when doubts came knocking in the pouring rain. :)

Thy Grace is Sufficient

And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

Tenth Avenue North: You Are More

Don’t you know who you are?
What has been done for you?
Don’t you know who you are?

You are more than the choices that you’ve made
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes
You are more than the problems you create
You’ve been remade

-Tenth Avenue North was the band responsible for this awesome song! It was my first to heard them earlier this week–so good to hear hearty music playing over and over again. I found more bands to review also, you’ll hear more of them from me soon.

Oh, and I just felt, this is the kind of genre I’ll be doing for my poems or song lyrics most of the time here in my blog. You better watch out for that. :)

Indeed, we are truly more because of HIM! Kick up happy bones. :P

Find Your True North

Sometimes life’s gonna hit you in the face with a brick. Don’t lose faith… I’m convinced that what kept me going was that I loved what I did– you’ve got to find what you love. And that is true for work as it is for your lovers. Your work is gonna fill a large part of you life. And the only way to be truly satisfied, is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work, is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. And don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking. Don’t settle.

Moodboard: No Rain. No Rainbow.

Even as I took a break from blogging, I still made my moodboard for last October and this November. I’m just dying to show off what I did ever since the past month for I get good reviews whenever my friends see it (because my moodboard for a particular month is Viktor’s–my iPod’s–wallpaper too that’s why they see it). You can say I’m a bit proud since they liked it even my only job is to collate the pictures I get from blogsites I visited, and yes I am. I think it’s just cool because the pictures brought Positivity to them as well and I am most happy when my works kinda exude those inspiring vibe. Credits to the Tumblr sites I visited: Mighty to Save, Bubbly Kat and Happy Things.

Even life brings you something not nice, just find time to look at the bright side…

Spread peace and give love. Share your blessings given by the One up above.

Oh, ain’t this the cutest background song of a commercial ever? HAHA. Sorry, fan mode. (:

The band behind the commercial song Hey Daydreamer is the Someday Dream (one man band c/o Rez Toledo. Managed by the then Hale vocalist, Champ Lui Pio). Earlier posts on the November celebrant who’s launching his very first album on the 29th, click HERE. I just felt the need to edit this part because (base from my blog stats, I think) you dear blog-reader, might be interested on this.

Follow the band on Facebook and Twitter too.

Cheers!

Everything bright and sunny. Under the clouds, it’s warm and lovely! Say whaaaaat?

I collected all the many things that inspired me (and most of the pictures came from Tumblr), I edited them out and there it is–my moodboard this month of September and counting.

I feel all giddy for next week–it’ll be Hello Old School. I’m really egg-cited! Happiness. Joy. And love. Cheers!
